I'm planning on covering my h26 with a couple of blue tarps for the winter. I've been reading the archives and seen some talk on how people do it. I was planning on using the mast as ridge poll and then bring the tarp over the lifelines and down. But what I am wondering is if anyone has any pictures of how they do it. Jason

Block the mast

Make a block to support the mast atop the cabin. Have heard of unblocked masts getting bent by excessive snow. In the photo I covered my boat with two smaller tarps. Not my usual method. With this setup only the forward tarp is over the mast. Actually worked pretty well. Make sure you take down your lifelines and cut holes in the tarp where the stanchions are. cover on horizontal mast

I placed a 4x4 post on the mast shoe cut to a length to make the mast lie horizontal. The blue tarp is 30' by 20' and tied down to the trailer. This year I purchased a heavier silver tarp which should last longer. I took 12" pieces of 2" round tubing, slit longways and covered the stanchens to protect the tarp. I used left over pieces of holding tank hose. Brigg
