for years I used any old scouring powder on my deck and topsides but after a recent a awlgrip job I should probably take more care. Whats good? To keep my finish intact and take the dirt off.

Be very careful what you use on Awlgrip or you can quickly destroy the finish by usng the wrong cleaner or wax.
Awlwash and Awlcare are comparable in cost to regular wash and wax products but will not harm the finish. I've seem $10,000 paint jobs destroyed by people trying to save $5 on cleaning products.

we learned the hard way not to use soft scrub, etc. on our boat after doing the poly glow routine....now we use ivory flakes, liquid ivory, or dreft...anything that is useable for baby
diapers will not disturb the new finish on your boat......Patrick

A friend said he uses Tilex on his deck. I was apprehensive about using it because it has bleach in it, but a few weeks ago I cleaned the deck with soap and water and still wasn't happy with it. So, I sprayed Tilex on the deck, scrubbed a little with deck brush and hosed it off. Wow, looked like a new deck. It does have bleach in it, so I didn't let it set long and hosed it really well.

I am sure all of the sea life around your boat just loved that.:bang::bang:

I suggest you get some purpose made products for this. For instance the Sea Brite SeaSafe line has some good cleaners that aren't as toxic to the environment.

Don is right on this one. Waxes will turn yellow, and most soaps are harsh on the paint finish. I only use Awlwash to wash the hull, and a couple times a year we seal the finish with Awlcare. Awlcare is easier to use than wax, as you only apply and remove by hand. We are always being complimented on the shine.
