Boat blender?

We are looking at adding a blender to our vessel inventory. We have been experimenting with making ginger beer at home. We hope to use this when we are living aboard as our supply of mix. Using a blender on the ginger root seems to work really well.

We do have a diesel generator on board so a 110 v model would work and will probably be what we will buy unless someone highly recommends a 12 volt model.

Our friend Mike uses a Daiquiri-wacker on his boat, but I think that is a bit too much for us . http://www.gasblender.com/

I've got a rechargable one on mine and it works great. It can charge from 110v and 12volt I didn't think it was going to have enough power bot it's got plenty We don't use it a lot, but it does come in handy when we need it.

How about the Magic Bullet type? Use it at home or on the boat.

Not saying that exact one, but any one like it.

Probably no need to go the 12v route. We've been using a cheap Walmart blender aboard the Glass Slipper for the past 5 years. We have a frozen drink nearly every night. It makes a decent smoothie too. It runs for such a short time it's not much of a battery drain.

thanks everyone for the advice, looks like a small 110v blender from Walmart is the thing to get, we have a 900 w inverter so it should work fine for this application......
