Am the recent owner of Catalina 36MK11 & plan to live aboard. Problem with boarding ladder in "up position". Has anyone modified ladder to make it swing open from the closed position(vertical) like a gate? This way you would not have to drop it into the water every time you want to get off the stern. Would still want to keep it as a boarding ladder.
