Just wondering if someone could tell me how much movement there should be at the tip of the board when it's all the way down[sideways movement]. Carl h240 Relentless

Not a lot

I fixed my centerboard this past spring. There is a posting in archives that I submitted about the centerboard mounting bracket. It has shims at the bottom and this allows the board to move back and forth on the pin. This swinging causes some problems. The problems I found are as follows; 1. Excessive noise when at anchor. 2. Pilot hole pin worn out. 3. Pilot pin corroded. 4. Crack along forward edge of centerboard well. If you have the boat out drop the board and check for cracks..... Since adding upper shims the boat is quieter. If you have any questions just ask....
