I am trying to find a good location for the blue tooth device on a B&g wireless wind sensor. Just some suggestion or opinions were to place. I am wanting to place it in the cabin. Thanks

Don't the installation instructions cover that?

You can probably find a place inside where it will work, but be wary of the glassed in metal reinforcement plates in the deck structure.. places where deck hardware is attached.. Probably would require a makeshift wiring job and moving it around inside until you get a suitable signal.. then duct tape it in that place and go sailing to make sure it works underway.. THEN run the wires appropriately to make it pretty..

B&G identifies the sensor distance line of sight Wireless connectivity as <=30m (98 ft)

A straight line of sight from the top of your mast to just about anywhere on your boat will work. You want a clear from mast head signal to the antenna. You could locate it on the stern for instance, out of the way free from being covered or damaged. Then attach your NMEA 2000 drop cable from the antenna to the backbone. Good to go.

BT signals penetrate fiberglass just fine. Very little attenuation. Just don't place it under a metal structure. Zero need to put it on the deck. Orient the device upwards, the BT antenna receives best in a broad cone upwards from it.

Don't forget to pair it before mounting the sensor! ;^)
