does anyone have this controller?
Since I got my electrical back up and running, I noticed the light for LOAD, is on sometimes. I don't understand why.
I downloaded the manual for it today and it says it would be lit if there's an auxiliary load. I don't even have that hooked up.
I think It only comes on when the batteries are real high. I have a picture of it being on when my volt meter said 14.4 volts and I still had 2 amps coming in from the solar panels.
Should that light be coming on?

You know I don't remember mine being on before, but the other day I went out to see if if could tell the load that our stereo puts out and turned the controller off to the panels and the batteries (I use a double pole switch to do that) to read the amps from the stereo.

When I turned it back on then the load light was on. I stayed and watched it for a couple minutes then left thinking I would check it the next day, but then we left for Florida and I forgot so now don't know.

So I can't answer the question, but don't think it came on before. Please post if you call them. They have always been helpful with me and we like that controller and have the next larger one on the Endeavour and it seems to of been working fine on that boat as someone checked on it for us about a month ago.

Glad to hear you are getting things sorted out,

Sum

I called Blue Sky and didn't get any live people. I left a message. I called Solar BLVD, that's who I bought it from. They answered the phone but didn't know and they suggested I call Blue Sky!
I feel a little better knowing that the load light came on in Sumner's controller. I mean, I'm assuming that it's been working right and he's had no known issues?
If I don't hear back from them today I'll try one more time.
For now, I'm going to try to consider it normal?
it's just weird that the load light would come on and there's not even any wires connected to the auxiliary load circuit.

Update!
Blue Sky called me back, (kudos to them)
The guy says that the LED on the load circuit will come on anytime the main battery is in "acceptance or float modes".
That answers why I only noticed it when the voltage was up high.
He went on to say that the fact that I might have had it connected to dead batteries for who knows how long, wouldn't hurt the controller at all.
I feel a lot better now.

Thanks, now I don't have to worry about the one at home. Things like this I can never remember, so I guess the load light has been on in the past and I just forgot . The other day when it was on the battery was charged.

The 40, 60 and 100 watt panels are (have been) connected to the batteries through the controller for about 2 years now. Sure hope to get the boat out late this summer,

hey Sum,
I'm glad you're still around. If I were in your shoes I might not be.
It seems like the Mac would feel kinda puny after being in the Endeavor.

You know they are totally different boats. We had hoped to of gone out on Lake Powell for a couple weeks last fall with the Mac but then Ruth had to have a number of eye operations so that put that on hold. We had hoped to of been to the Endeavour in Jan. but the eye put that on hold also. We finally arrived today and have a lot of work to do. Hopefully this time we will get out.

We enjoy being in the Endeavour even working on her in the yard. At home I'll just go out and sit in the Mac and sure miss going out and really look forward to taking her out this summer. The Mac you kind of wear and that is really neat and she just seems more personal than the Endeavour.

Different boats, different feel and they are both nice. We will probably own the Mac long after the Endeavour is gone,

I completely understand, they are completely different.
And for you, they're a long way from each other!
I'm guilty of doing my share of driveway sailing too! I keep the mast up all the time it's in the driveway for several reasons, but with it up it's a lot nicer to be on board.
