I think it is possible that I may have a blown head gasket. Has anyone experienced this? If so how does the motor act? When my motor acts up I get some black smoke out the exhaust for a little while then the engine bogs down with lots of white smoke often times stalling if I don't get it throttled back in time. Also I can't get the RPM's I normally get at full throttle. It was origanlly suggested to me that I need a complete engine rebuild due to low compression in one cylinder, but now I'm not so sure. I am planning on getting a 2nd opinion but would like to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience. Dave

Check the oil

The head gasket's job is to keep the oil passages into the head separate from the coolant passages. If your oil looks like a chocolate milkshake, then you've got a blown headgasket. It's a dead giveaway. Paul sv Escape Artist h336

Bleed the air

If the previous post doesn't prove out, then the white smoke could also be due to air in the fuel line. Try bleeding the system again. If the smoke is sweet smelling, then it may very well be the head gasket and the antifreeze burning.
