Blown forecast on Friday!!

All my source forecasts, NOAA, ADDS, CBOFS and NWS had for the northern Chessy W15-20. Well... by the time we got down to Turkey Point by noon it was gusting to 28Knts! 4-5' very steep chop. Our little C310 was not happy about it, so we had to make a run for it back up the Elk. Lots of large logs and debris from the recent storms to dodge as well. Anyone else out?

Can't speak for Friday, but the WX guessers had it wrong on Saturday. Hopper Pt to PAX had 28 kts apparrent.

Quit complaining. You are on the water! They just two days ago put our docks in. That's my Highlander slip, far left and inside. I sail out but too tight to sail back in with all the pontoon boats both sides of the fairway.

Not necessary complaining, got a good sail in, just like to know what I'm getting into, g-friend is a bit of a fair weather sailor along with a tender boat. I'm just surprised that all the models were wrong.

Yup.. This last system that blew thru with all the tornados to the north was a bugger !! No one's models thought about the thing correctly.. Throughout the past week, our winds on the Pontchartrain were considerably higher than forecast.. Not to poke fun, but someone here on the site noted that the National Weather Service (NWS) could also be Normally Wrong Suckers.. Those guys really do a fine job but sometimes the models just don't do it.. It may have something to do with weekends when the higher tenured guys are off ..??

More power to you! I haven't gotten a good weather window yet for time to get down to the boat to even start prepping.

When you get caught out in big air and the boat teaches you some things you didn't know, you'll be better off for it the next time. Hope it didn't scare the g-friend!

Any time there's a lot of rain and a big wash-down of debris occurs, it's best to stay off the water for a couple of days. After a storm I've seen tires, lawn chairs, and even a picnic table--that one made me turn into Worton instead of going to Baltimore one weekend as intended!

Yea, I was windsurfing on the Back River one time after a big storm and saw a bath tub float by. I was aware of the debris potential, I guess that I was hoping the bigger storm ( had 2' over high tide and gusts to 40Kn) we had a week eariler had washed a lot of the stuff away already, but not so, it was like a mine field out there!
