Blower hose and other one that I need help identifying.

Hi, New 326 owner here. Would someone be able to help identify the 2nd deteriorated vent hose and how it should lay? The 1st is for the blower and I guess the 2nd is a general vent to the compartment. Does it attach to anyting and if I replace it, how far forward should it go?

Typically, there are 2 hoses, one exhaust powered by fan and one passive intake with no blower.

Hi @niceshoes6 , and welcome to the site.

I installed my own air cooling system to cool the alternator with the newly installed alternator regulator. It would have caught fire without the supply of cooling air. NOTE: these bloody messes of hoses are for cooling fans only. Ventilation is not required on a diesel with access to free air.

This is a shot of my single hose which exhausts the engine compartment.

The inlet air to the compartment sweeps across the hull bottom and then up under the engine. This is the coolest air available in your boat. Don't install and air supply hose to the compartment. It will only reduce the effectiveness of the cooling system.
