This weekend I used my Island Girl products step by step(Sea Glow,scuff pad,Sea Glow again,water damp towel,Simply Brilliant). The finish is blotchy. Would you suggest a second coat of Simply Brilliant? Thanks, Bob

Your gelcoat was porous - apply a second coat
We went over the details in today's telephone conversion. However, here it is again. Since you "did everything right" (making sure no excess cleaner under the wax, shook bottle, thin coat of wax etc) you will need a second coat. There was an area on my topsides that was so porous that it took 3 coats. When using more than 2 coats, use dampened microfiber cloth to any excess oiliness build up. SILKENSEAL contains the cross-linker that we had to leave out of the wax and this can be used for quickshine touch up of any water marks or to save excess use of Superwax on excessively porous gelcoat. I spent some time yesterday photographing my boat to help illustrate the answer to questions about longevity of the waxed surface. Thanks Jim Willis
