I am in the market for a 30. There is one offered at a good (maybe) price but I was told that it has approx. 150 half dollar sized blisters. I was also told that it would cost about 6K to repair them professionally. Any input I could get on this would help. Thanks, Rusty

What kind of deal?

What kind of deal are you taling about? In March I bought an '86 30 with Dsl, Wheel, Harken Furling, Radar, Depth, Speed, Dodger, everything needed except batteries. She was in the middle of a bottom re-do. She's stripped, and approx 10 blisters have been popped, filled, and faired. She's pretty much ready for barrier coat. I picked her up for 6K. I just couldn't resist. Kevin

Consider fixing them yourself

You can save a lot of $$ by doing the repairs yourself, if you're up to it. Pirates Cove has really reasonable yard rates, and plenty of people to give advice (maybe too many lol).

Response to Chip

Chip I appreciate the reply but I would not know how to begin doing it right. And yes Pirate's cove is a good palce for yard work. I had my C 22 out there. Rusty

Response to Kevin

Asking price is 15k and they will negotiate. Has all the right stuff on her but is also in Jacksonville so that is another negative for me. Thanks for the response. Rusty

Don't worry to much

Don't worry to much about the blisters. Fixing them may make them worst. You can read all about them in the link. With bigger blisters you would be better off the just grind them out and not to strip the whole bottom.
