Have any owners of newer model Hunter boats experienced any blistering? What was the outcome and what can be done to prevent blistering?

New boats are protected from blistering by a coating of vinyl resin on the bottom. The best protection from blisters is applying a barrier coat of epoxy marine paint! For new boats there at two schools of thought. One, it is better to not barrier coat a new boat to see it there is a problem with the hull. The second, barrier coat right away to prevent blisters.

My '86 H34 has never had a blister nor treatment of any kind. A study by a 'famous university' (I can't remember the name) said that most blisters were caused by water standing inside the hull. (no gel coat) The best treatment was to keep the water out and to paint the bilge. My 34 sat for ten months in Antigua, flooded after Hurricane Louise. What a mess, but no blisters. After our rebuild, the bilge is dry.
