My two cents..
Purchased my H37C in November after surveying two and looking at some older H34's as well. I never saw a bottom or topsides problem on any of those boats. The main issue seems to be moisture in various parts of the deck and/or the cabin top. This is a result of the sealant getting old and hard along with all the flexing around the mast and shrouds. Also read the Rainbow_Chaser web-site. Previous owner care makes a large difference. The first boat I had surveyed ran the moisture meter off the scale, everywhere. The boat I purchased had a little near the shrouds and on the cabin roof behind the mast. I'll pull the stick and repair these myself before next Spring. Otherwise it's a solid boat and the cutter rig really goes!
