I was running the heater, water heater and alarm clock, then I turned on the hair dryer and 2 seconds later I had no electricity. I checked the breaker for the slip and it was ok and I reset them anyway. I looked all over the boat for another breaker but couldn't find one. Any ideas if there is a breaker or fuse for the 110 volt system on the 376? If so, where?

Check elc. panel?

I'm assuming that you did this but in your message you did not say that you reset the breakers on the boat's electrical panel. The switches marked HW heater and port/stb on the 110v side should be checked.

shorepower?

Franklin Sometimes the marina will have a main breaker before the dock breaker. I'd first check the dock fixture with a voltmeter to make sure there is power there. If so, next check continuity across the main breaker on the boat (unplug first...) to ensure the breaker on the boat is functioning. If you have fuses, the same approach applies but I doubt there are any unless a PO got creative Don

Thanks Don

I was hoping there was another marina breaker that could have blown. Maybe by the time I get off work and back to the boat they will have already reset it. There are two other live-aboards on my side of the dock. Maybe they were all using their hair-dryers too :)

Breaker Location

There are two breakers located in the port lazarette in the top left hand corner next to the hull on my 1998 376. Reset 'em and you should be good to go. Hope this helps!

Doug, Any idea what they protect?

Maybe a junction box for a generator access point????? Or a redundant annoyance?

behind the panel?

on mine, you remove the switching panel and there are breakers there. Just tug it out and they are behind there. Just a guess, hope it helps.

Each breaker protects the two 30 amp 110 circuits on-board. They're thrown whenever you have an overload, has happened a few times over the years. You'll never find them if you don't know where to look.

So the panel on your boat doesn't have a main

breaker? That would give you room for more circuits. But isn't there a rule that breakers have to be visible for safety's sake? Or at least evident?

checking breakers

check near electrical plug on the boat there is (depending on model) a main breaker mounted very close to the electrical connections. In my 336 it was on the same panel as the battery switch. There may or may not be a a breaker for the bilge pump also. If you have the Hunter manual there should be a wiring diagram with the approx location of the breaker

Port lazzarette on 356

Port lazzarette on the 356 has two breakers - one for each of the two 30 amp legs. They are covered with soft plastic and look kind of like a residential light switch.I have tripped those several times, because I run everything on one 30 amp connection. If water heater, microwave and HVAC are running - usually trips. I bet there is one for each of your circuits near where the shore power connections come into the boat - nearest lazzarette. Good luck!

My 376 (1996)

My 376 has a breaker inside the hull on the port side just beside the shore power receptacle. It has never tripped and I do not know if it is an earth current device or a simple over-current type. Can anyone advise please?

Thanks all

It was inside the port stern laz. I reset it and all is good now...well...except that I think I'm only working off one of them because only one breaker was switched. I will be trying to trouble shoot that this weekend.
