I have just replaced my Racor filter & engine filter on my M25xp. I have an electric fuel pump, raIcor filter separator [with pump] and bypass knob on engine. I filled both filters with deisel and tried to bleed. The electric fuel was really ticking fast. My question is does everything need to be bled an in what order. 1 racor 2 engine filter vent screw 3 by pass knob on engine. For some reason it never would bleed right. That fuel pump just kept ticking away. Thanks Russ

Hi Russ; My 25XP on my C30 is almost self bleeding. Here is what I do. When I replace filters, I turn off the fuel valve on the tank. It is located very close to the tank on the main fuel line. After I replace both filters, Racor and Engine, I turn the fuel valve back on and wait about 10 Minutes. Fuel starts to flow into the Racor clear bowl. When it is full, I turn on the start key to get the fuel pump to run. In about 2-3 minutes the fast clicking will start to slow somewhat. Then I open the bleed screw knob on the engine about a turn or so, and start the engine. It may be a little rough at first, but when it smooths out, I close the bleed screw on the engine and I am good to go! It actually takes longer to explain it then it does to do it. If that does not work, go back and check the gaskets on both filters, as that is the greatest place for a minute leak to take place. good luck Dave

We also have an M25-XP. While I do put fuel (actually injector cleaner thanks to a tip from Stu) into the Racor bowl these days, I've replaced the filters without doing that. Once the filters have been replaced, you can simply open the bypass valve at the engine and turn on the key (without starting the engine, of course). The electric fuel pump will "tick" very rapidly while fuel fills the Racor, then the filter on the engine. This can take a little longer than you expect, if both of those filter bowls are empty when you begin. Once those get full, the ticking will slow to the normal slow click. Close the bypass valve and you're done. The bypass valve makes bleeding this motor a very simple process. Gary Kunkel
