Have you ever had the bottom paint removed by soda blasting? If so how did it turn out and aprox. what did it cost. I am looking for a place in Erie, Pa to have it done, I just don't have the time to sand it. l

I had mine sand blasted by an experienced blaster- soda would have been better. She's got a trailer so I was able to take it to the place.

Saved a lot of money.
I think I would have spent what it would have cost to do it in the boatyard.

Faster and much much healthier. You're going to make a mess any way it's done. I've had my share of 'dirty jobs' now that I'm retired I don't feel like getting back into that crap. I want keep what health I have.
It does a beautiful job. Nice and clean for barrier coating and exposed lots of small blisters. If you can swing it then I highly recommend it.

Yea, I agree with you on working too hard and a way too long. I thought about renting a sand blaster but for one I would rather have someone that knew what they were doing And second I don't think the marina, a state park, we are at would let me do it anyway. Thanks for the pictures.

I think it's something left to experience. But ask at the Marina anyhow. See what they've got to say. At my yard people have erected temporary enclosures. Is there anyone else in the yard that might want to too? That could make it worth it.

Good Luck either way. Always wear protection:dance:
