Justice...

I was laughing at Main Sail's post and replies... then my wife walked in with new rugs and... oh the embarrassment... fuzzy toilet seat covers. Don't tell anyone  Rick D.

My ribbing on the Shop thread must be hitting home...:D No seriously..We got kids befor we got a boat ..for you it is the other way around..By the time we did they all had their own Laptops for their Home Schooling.....Soooo.. if they wanted to watch a movie one is always with them anyway... I tip my hat to you for the willingness to defile your beautiful boat for the greater good of the little ones...;) FWIW...we have not had broadcast TV for 17 years...not coincidentally the same age as my oldest... I look forward to the class act of installation to be sure. Good on ya sir. PS: PBJ on sailor bread may be easier to extract..:D Oh and by the way your ports are gorgeous.

It's not the PBJ you have to worry about

with a dvd player, they think it's a bank and put all their change, loose keys, small washers, etc in it. I replace at least 1 $3000 navigation radio from an Escalade every month or so for failed dvd and it always jingles when I remove it. When you can't find your box of spare parts, you will know where to look ;D Tim

if you need a microwave...

I have one that's for sale, cheap, that so far we've only used to make popcorn on the few nights we're at the dock and watching movies on our LCD TV and DVD player thats built in. However, there is no sat. dish ar antenea. Considering ditching the microwave and using the box for storage since 99% of the time we're anchored out and no juice for the microwave. To be honest tho, I will admit to watching a movie or two while anchored out in the middle of nowhere, when it's a cool night and the brain is shut down as far as reading and thinking. Speaking of Thomas, I think I've seen every episode with Ringo Starr and George Carlin and we have a ton of Thomas the Tank Engine track, engines, cars, buildings etc. etc. that my son (17yr. old) now has boxed away for "some day"

Confession of a wayward sailor

So a number of years ago my wife (on my whim) gave me a small (5") TV/radio that initially I put in the computer room to keep an eye on interesting programs while surfing the net. Well given that I don't watch TV at the best of times, it was soon relegated to the guest room and has not been turned on for a few years. However, I must confess that I have this deep desire to mount it in my 20' weekender. Now why is that? Do I think that would mark a level of luxury, make a statement on my small 'yacht', or just be a bragging point. I honestly don't think I would really watch any TV on the boat whether docked or anchored, yet I continue to experience this need to have it aboard. Can anyone explain that? My second question on decatency is regarding a 12 volt microwave. I assume they make such things for the RV industry, but how well do they work? Is it a viable alternative for a hot lunch? (instead of stopping to cook on a marine stove)

Maine Sail, I thought about this last night-

Everything you do is first class, over the top quality. So now your adding a tv. Surely it's not going to be a standard install. That would never do, would it. Are you open to ideas? Convert one of your sails to a projection screen- Dora the Explorer for miles around. Of course, you'll need a quality PA system. Too much? How about a 60" Plasma, hdtv. Replace the door to the head with the screen, and you have the same interior space. Still too much? I at least expect you to install screens on every cupboard and cabinet door, kind of like the headrest monitors on "Pimp My Ride". You've set the bar pretty darn high. Wouldn't be surprised to see you on the premier of a new tv show..."Float my Ride"? "Sloop Dog"? "Sail Or No Sail"? "Knots Landing"? Oops, that's taken... Seriously, I appreciate you sharing all that you do. Thanks. cup
