Can anyone confirm that the 1983 Pearson 303 was equipped with a ridged or bladder type holding tank and what size? Thanks in advance, Jerry

If a bladder, you want to replace it

'Cuz it's almost impossible to prevent odor inside the boat OR out the tank vent (it has to be vented, CG regs required that all waste tanks must be vented to the outside of the boat) in a bladder waste tank. So don't worry about what's on it now..only about whether you'll have work to do after you buy it. Why ARE you asking???

yes, blader

I own a 1984 303--it has bladers for waste and freshwater--the current ones are french--but I don't know if they are original--probably not.

The holding tank is 14 gal Nauta

bladder tank. Fresh water also bladder tank ~37 gal. Replacements available thru West Marine, Defender, etc. Cost ~$250 for 14 gal one. Probably a good idea to replace the holding bladder if original. I have a 1985 P303 and replaced both tanks about 3 years ago. If fresh water tank leaks - not too serious, but, if holding tank lets loose, you're in deep dodo, pun intended!

go bigger

My '85 P-34 had a 14 gal. I replaced with a 25 gal Nauta last spring (had to change location to fit). If you are going to be between pump-outs for more than a couple days, I suggest fitting a bigger tank if possible. So far, so good w/new set-up. I put in a second vent (suggestion from Peggy) to try to provide air circulation.
