Black window seals

Hi
Black marks are caused by the degradation of the rubber. Best to replace the rubber or perhaps coat in a varnish or similar?

I have the same problem on Elvire. Is it a tough job to change the rubber?

You might try one of the automotive products for rubber. Armorall, 303, or maybe even that stuff that used car deals put on tires to make them black and shiny. tg

If you're in the US there's a product called "Bleche-White" by Black Magic.
It's sold as an automotive rubber tire cleaner and does wonders for removing the perished layer on the surface of old rubber. It also cleans vinyl. Be careful not to let it sit on finished surfaces as it will eat into them. Although the directions say to spray it on a dry surface, I wet the area down first and still get good results, plus no damage to the surrounding areas. Wear gloves and don't inhale the vapors!
