black smoke

Hello, i have a pearson 27 Hull # 40.

when i put more throttle than the normal cruise, i notice a black smoke from the escape, what happen to my engine...

Check the oil level in the crankcase. If there is too much oil, it will get sucked up into the engine and cause smoke. The engine may also rev up.

Have you check the condition of the bottom and the prop? If either are fouled it can cause the engine to work to hard.

Clean your prop and bottom before you do anything as just a little funk will create excessive drag and cause that condition. Happened to me 2 years ago
