Black bilge water

I’ve always had an inch or so of fresh water in my bilge while always moored I salt water. One day recently I was stunned to see it absolutely black . I tried pressure washing, steam cleaning...all with various soaps. No joy. The water did not smell nor was it oily . I might have read it in SBO but I threw in a tiny amount if No Flex Digestor. Next morning the bilge and water were clean and crystal clear. .

That would imply the black stuff was bacteria.

After reading a number of posts on this forum that raved about the Zaal Noflex I had to give it a try. Pricey but very effective, IMHO.
