Not certain if my PC worked when I posted a good report about "Bird Barrier" doing a perfect job of eliminating the problem. My 23.5 is docked in the back yard; lots of tall pine trees in neighbors yards (not mine!) so the spreaders were popular dumping grounds. Recommend anyone else with this problem give it a look. Also the spikes are flexible, not sharp ended, so on a run the main is not harmed. PS - had a terrific sale last week with visiting friend Kevin Hill; gusty 8-12 knots. makes it all worth while!

Much better than my Idea!

I have been mounting a cat on each spreader. I is very effective but my wife thinks it is wrong somehow. I thought it was a good way to have the cats earn their keep. Maybe your way is better. Frank

Off Topic Question

I have an '86 H23. Does anyone know if these boats are properly grounded to protect against lightening strikes while under sale or at anchor?

Answer to off topic

Well, the mast is grounded to the keel bolt, but if I were out in a thunder storm, i would make a point not to be touching anything metal.
