I have a good local source for BioDiesel and am wondering if anyone has used this product. Has it reduced the diesel smell in the cabin? What about engine performance, etc., etc. thanks, John

I tried it and I loved it! I really couldn't tell a difference in performance, but I could tell a huge difference in the smell! If it were close by, I would pay extra to get biodiesel for the smell issue alone... Brian s/v CREW REST

We have several good suppliers around our area, but I had heard it was not good on engines over 10 years old. Anyone else heard or know about this? Thanks Jeff

Query the archives with all posts with all words "Archives" and "Stu Jackson" and you get 8188 hits. Those "check the archives" posts get pretty old.

knowledgeable, always willing to help, offer opinions & share his experiences. I'm pretty much a novice, and have learned a bunch from him (and others of course). His advice is usually right on the money, including "check the archives". Personally, I'm glad he's out there...and I now check the archives before a post because I know that's among the first things suggested. It must really upset you to see his words. It's no big deal! The archives are a GREAT source of info.

Excellent product, more pluses than minuses.
John: We have also used the product. There are many more pluses than minuses. The only real negative thing is the cost, and that is really not a big deal on a sailboat. There can be a problem with leaking of hoses if they are not of the correct type too. Many municipal bus companies are using an 80/20 blend in buses. We have had several of the ski areas in the Sierras switch to biodiesel blends too. Yanmar had a boat with twin outboard diesels run around the world on the stuff. It actually helps the lubrication of the engine too. and do review the archive posts on the subject. It comes up at least once a year.

First you should
Re-run your fuel lines. B100 is hard on standard fuel lines. They need to be upgraded. This product is being used mostly in government buses to keep the farmers happy. Even though it burns 100% clean, the gas companies will never let it reach the masses. They have to powerfull a lobby. Get some air fresher and tighten up you engine bolts!
