While reading my Yanmar manual I saw that they call for a Biocide in the fuel. Do you use a "biocide" in the fuel to stop growth, and if so, which one?

Prevents Sludge

Without a biocide you will get growth of microbial life in diesel fuel. The microb's die and leave sludge that will clog your filters and fuel system. I have used Biobor JF Microbiocide for several years with good results. Our boat is in southern Florida where it gets very humid in the summer. It's water in the fuel that gives the little critters a place to live. Its also a good idea to leave the fuel tank topped off, to leave less room for condensation to occur. Bill Bell

Some fuels include it.

Some Texaco diesel fuels now include it in the fuels.

BIOBOR JF

BIOBOR JF is the best. It is what is used in aircraft jet fuel for the very same purpose.
