I have a 2000 Hunter 240 and I plan on getting a bimini top very soon. I am going to get the 6' one. Is there any advantage to also getting the track for a 6' bimini, or with it being that size, will be sufficient enough??

240 bimini

I have a bimini on my 240, a great investment and a must when you are out all day. Not sure of the question about the track?

Bimini

I guess what I am asking is, would it be benificial to put the 6' bimini on a track so it can be slid forwards and backwards. Could you cover the cabin opening or slide it back where it would lay behind the sternrail seats. I hope that explains it a little better.

main sheet

If you use it while under way it needs to be behind the main sheet so I don't see how it could cover the cabin. I have one on my 99 240 with a single attatchment point and it works great. when it folds to the stern it sits on the back of the cockpit.

I have the sliders ...

on the 6 foot bimini I bought through the chandlery on this site. It allows flexibility in moving it forward and aft, as you suggested, and makes folding it down and sliding the bimini aft much easier when we want to sail with it down. I would suggest you get the sliding rails for your 240 bimini. Marc_B
