I am writing this email to anyone who has purchased a bimini for a 1990 Hunter 28. I am looking for one that goes from the stern rail all the way to the companion bulkhead, roughly about 86". I would like to find someone who has purchased a system that is very happy with and where you purchased it from. If so, do you have any dimensions, contacts or phone numbers. I would preferably like to put the frame work outside of the cockpit. Either on the rail or outside on the gunnel edge. I'm looking for 1" SST framing, probably with a split mount system. I have a split backstay system in which I will need to account for. I had spoken to many of sailors who have their systems and am trying to avoid purchasing a unit that is in the way and hard to deal with it in heavy air or just leaning back that you are not hitting it with your back, arms etc. If someone feels that they enjoy their bimini please share your information. Thanks!

Hi Joe, we were very happy with the full cockpit..

enclosure on our 1989 H28 that the previous owner installed. We used the side curtains twice in the three years we owned the boat; the dodger stayed up all the time and the bimini up maybe six times in the three years. Everything was installed around the cockpit coaming so it did not conflict with the split backstay. Terry

Bimini for 1990 Hunter 28

Terry, if you don't mine I would like to speak with you regarding your bimini that you had. I can be reached at work 314-335-4110. I am going to try and measure my boat this weekend if I can't find someone who may have a order that may have been placed on their boat. Thanks Joe.

I had a full cockpit bimini made for my 91 30T several years ago by Bob Wolfe. He had the pattern for my boat so I didn't have to do any measuring. Wolfe Sails Llc 1710 SW 10th Ave Topeka, KS 66604-1334 Phone:(785)232-8656

Hi Joe, call me at 425/513-9673 most any time...

Do you have a dodger on your boat? I liked the one on our H28 because you could see over it while standing at the helm, and the bimini sloped up from the dodger to allow for head clearance. The SS tubing arch for the bimini was secured to the cockpit coaming with long SS screws. Terry
