OK! Boom height is 5'. I am 6'. Need 6'-2" head room. Boom topping lift is in the way of any decent bimini. Any suggestions?? During sailing? Anchoring??

Not sure I followed your statement that . . . . .

the "Boom topping lift is in the way of any decent bimini". Do you mean that a bimini would interfere with access to the topping lift? Unfortunately, geometry is not on your side since the boom is only 5' above the cockpit sole. I've seen people deploy a bimini only at anchor/dock by shifting the boom up (with the topping lift) and to the side allowing for a taller bimini or by using a boom tent to provide shade or have a bimini of the proper height that only covers the cockpit from the end of the boom to the stern. Good Luck

sit down

or get a bigger boat. a topping lift can help and anchor but raising the boom will ruin agood boat.

Just bought a new bimini

Which I hope to get installed this weekend. I measured from the mainsheet to the rear pole and came up with 6 feet of clearance. Then I measured from side to side to get 7 feet wide. I intend to fix the height about two inches below the boom when sheeted in. That should get me the most shade which is limited by the mid-boom sheets. You will be able to walk around under there, but not stand up.

Installed the new Bimini

The top I installed was a 36" high top x 7 feet wide and 6 feet long. After fiddling for an hour I ended up installing it on the rub rail lip. The bimini sits 4 or 5 inches in front of the mast crutch, and 3-4 inches behind the mainsheet blocks. The Bimini rides two inches below the boom when sheeted in, but had to make the center top bow flat to accommidate the boom. Went sailing over the weekend and it was great to be sailing with the temperature close to 95 and still have it possible to sail.

Have you sailed with the bimini yet? In the picture, it looks like you might have a problem with the topping lift slack and the mainsheet in hard. I like your dual-axle trailer. Did you modify the factory single-axle? ...RickM...

I've sailed with mine..

with the topping lift slack. If I crank down on the main real hard it just brushes, but normal sailing its about an inch off the top. Howeve in order to accomplish that, I have to keep the top straps firm and the center bow of the bimini almost flat. My middle bimini bow is adjustable, so I keep it flat so the center height is the same as the front and rear bow.
