I have a 1985 31 foot Oday with the sugar scoop.
I want to get a bimini top, rail mount and wonder if there are any standard tops that would fit my boat.

They want $2000 for a custom made and installed.

Need cover for mainly the helm area but split back stay can be obstical.

Thanks

One of the guys in my club bought a Bimini Top for his Hunter 27 for about $300. I think he got it at Overton's. The frames are aluminum and the fabric is Vinyl on his, but you have a choice of stainless steel and Sumbrella fabric. He likes it. I'd like to have one myself but my back stay would be a problem and trying to land a Striped Bass with the Bimini in the way would be a problem for me. A lot of times I just rig up a 5'X7' polytarp to my stern rail and support it with my boat hook for shade. It looks like heck, but I do it mostly for my dog. Between that and a regular garden sprayer filled with water to provide a fine cooling mist, it works well for us on those hot steamy days sailing the bay.

On my 1980 25' I purchased an off the shelf bimini from WestMarine. Sunbrella & aluminum poles but it has been a great addition during rain & hot sunny days.
It was listed as an "Ultima" Bimini. #1893254. 4' L x 36"H x 73-78" W. I just looked and don't see it listed anymore. List was $349. But I found the fit guide on their site.
