While at anchor, right?
This bimini top and tarp idea is for protection at the dock or anchor, right? We're still canvas-less on our 322 but bought a GRAY tarp (it matches the hull!) at least as long as the boom and wide enough to nearly reach the lifelines. We anchored out in quite a storm last season and were very well protected, even from the blowing rain. We've considered the Shadetree awnings, but the size we'd need would run at least $500-600, and we've been really happy with that gray tarp (attached with small bungees). We generally only need it at night for protection (I swear it rained every time we anchored out last year!) and it offers privacy, too, since we bought the wider size. But let me know if you buy that ready-made and if it works out for you. We keep debating over the canvas issue and would likely put our money into a dodger first. I had a few 'Niagra Falls' moments in the cockpit last fall ....
