Bimini Top Installation for H26

I just bought a bim-top for my 26, and ran into a small snag. I also have an outboard motor storage bracket mounted to the port side stern-rail seat at the "T". According to the installation instructions for the bim-top, the stubby poles attach to the rail right there, plus it looks like the long pole of the top will make it tough to hang my motor on that bracket. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

Not at the boat right now but....

On my H26 I seem to recall that you're right, the 12" or so uprights mount at or near that area of the stern rail. I think most folks just leave their outboards on the motor mount and tilt them up so probably no one has run into this problem on a 26 before.Sorry for the bad news

Re-bimini

The 3.5' bimini I bought through Hunter for my 26 is mounted on rails on the gunnels so the bimini can be folded and laid down flat on the gunnels and there is enough play that it can be slid on the track forward or back while lying flat. Is yours mounted without the track to slide on? Or possibly you have the 5' one and it doesn't have this feature?

Bob,I have the bigger one, and it is not on sliders. It screws into a fixed point on the outside of the coamings. I haven't actually mounted it yet - I figure I will have to play with it to try to alleviate all of the concerns I have.

OK,you may be able to check if a slide track will help you. I think it's appr 30" long and should come with the nylon slides that you would attach your horizontal mount deck hinge to. If you can visualize where that would be on the gunnel right in the area where you would step over to get into cockpit and see if sliding the base of your setup will help you. It's a slick way to do it if it fits as it gives you more options on positioning.
