Hey folks, I'm planning on installing a bimini this weekend of the 4th of July (or sometime during the holiday weekend) so as not to fry like an egg. I'm looking at a frame width of 79-84 inches which should be okay. The frame height is 42 inches according to their specs. I can find no data as to the dimension of the cabin height of a 1970 Catalina 22 compared to the deck level versus boom location so I'm winging for the moment until this weekend. I don't know the exact dimensions or suggested installation so any recommendations would be extremely helpful from all you "old salty dogs" out there that have done the same. I guess the question is: "Will the bimini fit properly or should I readdress a proper fit?"

Good Fit

Alan, The measurements fit ok, I mounted side brackets on the outside of the coaming halfway between the winch an back ege of the cabin (halfway down the side). The length is six feet and 84" wide. The verticals may be cut own a few inches if the overall is too tall. A friend bought the 88" and mounted it to a car on the jib track (no holes in boat) and has the ability to move it fore and aft as the conditions allow. It does not get in the way sailing and everything is outside the walkway. Real nice if you have to go forward for sail handling or docking
