i have a Hunter 23.5 without the stern rail seats. I need some protection from the heat/sun in the cockpit and was considering buying and installing a bimini cover. Can anyone who has one tell me how benificial they really are, being only five feet in lenth ? Will it shade the bench seats in the cockpit ? Can you use it while sailing ? Also- is the installation a do it yourself project ? Much thanks in advance.

Order the bimini thru the HOW chandlrey and request Ameriseam product. You will get instructions on how to install. Well worth the money like in the south. It can be sailed with the bimin up but you cannot stand under it. When ordering advise year, model and no stern rail seats.

23.5 Bimini

We have the Ameriseam Bimini the Dave has recommended and would second his recommendation. I installed it myself, but it was rather difficult, only because it didn't come with installation instructions. I was able to get good support with adequate instructions over the phone on the second attempt. It works weel for shde, especilly at anchor. We infrequently sail with it, but it is possible, but I wouldn't try it in high wind. Steve

Do it!

I wouldn't take anything for my bimini top. We sail with it regularly. It keeps at least one side of the cockpit in the shade and keeps the crew happy. The frame supports also make a good place at attach gibaled bevdereage holders.
