Well, maybe not portholes, actually, they are just holes. Most are smaller than a dime - some longer. Is it possible/advisable to patch and if so, does it have to be sewn or are there, don't laugh, iron on patches??? I'm thinking back to the patches my mom used to patch my jeans with when I was a kid.... Fair winds, Bill of Salt & Pepper

do it right or do it twice...

Take it to a canvas shop and have it done right.

patches

I used an iron-on patch on a bimini hole. It actually held up good, but immediately faded out and became obvious it was a patch.

Thye holes in our bimini

tend to be linear. They result friom chafe by the boom and also the frame. We repair them with sewn-on one-inch webbing the same color as the bimini. Very sturdy and not too noticeable. We have also replaced all the zippers on this bimini as well as on the dodger and use the same webbing for the bimini straps.
