Greetings all. After enduring our first ultra hot day on the St. Johns my wife has agreed to put a Bimini (Did I say agreed? I meant forced me to) on our H22, 1982. I see on the web site here a pre cut Bimini for the H23 which looks quite similar. Does anyone know if the dimensions at the stern and are roughly the same? Is the boom at the same height as on the H22? Or, even better, has anyone put a Bimini on the H22 that could offer some help with this? Thanks so much. dlg "Sea Monkeys"

Sailrite has one that should fit

I had the same inquiry several weeks back and had the Sailrite Part # 10336VT recommended by a fellow Hunter 22 owner who installed one and was quite happy with it mike

Bimini

David, I was thinking of a Bimini for our H23 also. I think the 22 and the 23 are virtually the same dims in the aft cockpit area. Is your boom about 5 feet above the cockpit floor? If you add a bimini, you may be a bit cooler, but you won't be able to stand up anymore! I'd like to discuss the pros & cons of this with you. If you'd like, drop me a line at: ocrc@litenet.net Thanks, Jim Maroldo s/v: 'Lil Wass Ett Ocean Gate, NJ

Have one

Get one! Really helps on those long hot days. Got mine from boatus for $150.00 Originally for a 20 foot power boat. works fine on the H22. Covers the Entire cockpit. My wife insisted and I have to admit she was right. I also finally added a wheel steering unit. Takes a little getting used to but it's nice. (I don't spill my coffee every ten minutes any more.)

Dimensions????? (Also, wheel?)

Well, I took some measurements today and this is what I came up with, more or less: (sorry for the non technical stuff) From the side of the gunwhale(?) that I'll be attaching the bimini to just below the boom is about 34". The entire cockpit aft of the traveler is about 64". So the bimini needs to be only about 50" or so to leave room for the straps, I think. Also, do you have any pics and/or prices on the whell steering? I'd love to explore it but don't even know where to start. thanks!

Wheel steering

Edson makes a specific setup for the 22, but it's 1500 bucks. I went to the salvage yards and put a nice set up together for a little over $300.00. I've gotta get my ass to the photomat for the pics. Been busy, sorry.
