The C25 Tall Rig's boom is a foot lower than a standard rig model. How in the world has anyone installed a bimini? Not much clearance below boom. Note: I'd like to utilize the genoa track so that the bimini can be moved forward and aft. The main question is about height. Please help.

Flattening Reef

I just did the same on my C-30 Tall Rig. I'm 6'3" and would not have been able to stand straight at the helm without a flattening reef. It is a cringle placed about 12" (depending upon your situation) up the leech of the main, and operates similar to the regular reefing cringle However, instead of lowering the main halyard to the reef point, you raise the aft end of the boom to the flattening reef point, enough to give clearance to the bimini. You will need to install a new cheeck block on the boom respective to the location of the new cringle in the main. I had the guy who measued for the bimini install the cringle, that way he was able to include that variable in the design of the bimini. If I take the bimini down to race, I can shake out the flattening reef and have full benefit of the entire original main. That is the great part abouut it, it is not permanent. With a tall Rig I was not too concerned with the minimal loss of sail area, if I did not have a Tall Rig it might have been a consideration, but I still would have done it. If you want a picture, let me know and I'll take one next time I'll at the boat.
