Helping a disabled friend that needs to sell his 1989 Hunter 30. The boat is taking on a fair amount of water at the dock. Thing it would be the stuffing box but there is no indication it is dripping at all and all through hulls look good. Any suggestions on where to look?

The drains for the cockpit may have hoses that deteriorated and cracked allowing rainwater in. Also check the transducers for depth and speed, they could leak. If there is an anchor locker a drain hose there could let water in the boat.

Rudder shaft may have a leaking seal fitting.

looks for swollen hoses, especially the stuffing box shaft log hose if salt water. close all through hills to help determine, except maybe cockpit drains if they look good.

Thanks to everyone who has responded, this is something I can only work on when I have a little time. It is saltwater, all hoses, stuffing box and through hulls look okay. I have not got to the rudder shaft and checked the seal but as I narrow things down, I have a feeling...
