does the 23 require a bilge pump if yes how is it installed.

all boats need a pump, and if you have ever taken on water, you may want two or more. would have expected your boat to have one somewhere, look along centerline of hull, inside cabins or look at outside hull for any thru hull present, then track it down. if none, get one, and use smooth inside hose, not the ribbed flex hose because smooth pumps more water faster than flex does, use flex if necessary. get atleast a 1000gph, or biggest that will fit the space.

Where's the pump

I put a 2500 gph right underneath the bottom step. It seems to be the lowest point in the bilge. Right now I have it switched with a manual switch but will be adding a float switch soon as I keep mine in the water.

Russ, I just got the boat and am not to familarwith layout of bilge. I remember there is a pannel that lifts up in the center of the boat , It didn't seen deep enough. Can I get under the stairs to put the bilge there? or is it sitting under the last step.

Yeah, There's room

under the bottom step. Actually it's directly behind the centerboard pendant post. There's a small area that is like a little 'divot' right there. You'll need to remove the bottom step to get to that spot. Actually you might even need to remove the top step just to get your arms in there.Back when I had a few deck leaks I found that I could get every drop of water out of the bilge under the bilge cover but that area behind the post always had a little more. So I figured it was the lowest spot.Russ
