Does anyone know anything about blige pumps on Catalina 22's? Did they come equipped with one from the factory? How important is it?rogter@cancun.com.mx

All boats should have a bilge pump

I don't know if they came standard (probably not), but it's a great safety feature. I mean, where can you such a great insurance policy for $50?! I'm sure there are many boats out there without them, and more than likely you'd be fine, but why take the chance when you can install one for under $50? LaDonna

Best Bilge Pump

I always heard that the best Bilge pump is a scared sailor with a bucket. Always have a bucket.My 1982 Catalina 22 also came with a pump. It was a diaphragm type located under the port cockpit seat about midway. The suction pulls from the aft port seat were my electrical distribution is. the discharge is above the water line about 6 inches to the port of the centerline.
