I need to ad an automatic bilge pump in that deep bilge area under the motor. Where is the best place to route the hose? Tie it in with the grey water sump pump and discharge out the stbd side thru- hull? Or pipe it into one of the cockpit drains like the existing diaphragm bilge pump?

my 1979 9.2a came with a bilge pump in the sump that was run through a through hull out the starboard side just below the toe rail ...the hand pump was run through the cockpit drain like yours is ...i personally like the electric pump standing on it own and that is the way i plan to do it when it comes time to reinstall the blige pump again ......i also cut an access hatch just infront of the engine box in order to have better access to the pump and the new shower sump box i am installing as well....hope this helps

regards

My shower sump pumps out a thru-hull just above the water on the starboard side, with the shutoff accessible thru the cockpit locker. I'm thinking a out using a plastic Y just above the shutoff. I'm just wondering if it might tend to just backfeed into the shower sump.

Did you email regarding this already? If so, I won't repeat myself as we covered it. Suffice to say my boat has a tee in the starboard cockpit drain hose that my pump feeds into and the hose is inch and an eighth.

Yep. in the process of wiring up a 750gph automatic pump. piping it out to the starboard cockpit drain, as the port drain has the diaphragm pump teed into it already.
