need to replace. rule is the only one i see on WV/defender however with bad reviews. any other/better options?

Wema USA makes a nice unit as well as Ultra pump switch Jr.

There are a ton of float switches out there and most work the same. They have a little metal ball inside that when the float goes up, the ball falls to the bottom which touches two metal contact points inside which completes the circuit so the pump works. Rule makes a good one. Most any type will work. Not rocket science.

Just replaced mine with an Attwood unit cost 25.95 canadian. Just your basic flopper type. It will run our Attwood V 1250 bilge pump. Just make sure the amp rating of the switch will handle the amps required by the pump.
