ASI HAVE READ IN OTHER NOTES,THAT BILGE WATER GETS TRAPED BETWEEN THE HULL AND THE CABIN SOLE BY VARIOS BULKHEADS.DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A PICTURE OF THE POSITION OF THESE BULKHEADS SO I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO DRAIN SAME?

Not in the manual

I've got the original manual with my 1983 Hunter 31 and there's no indication in it about this void. Wish I knew as well.

Same Problem on my 31'

The fastest way to get rid of the water is to drill a 1" hole in the bottom of the sump area. The rank, sewer like water with mold, scum and other smelling things will fill the sump. Once you have most of the water out, fill the area again with cleaners and go out sailing. You need to be over 30/35 degrees to get the rest of the rank water behind the bulkheads out and into the sump area. After several water rinces you will start to see a difference in the way your boat smells. This is a real design problem with the 31'. We need to do the fill and rince thing three times a season or the smell will knock you out. I guess new Hunters have a better solution for water below the floor but the 31' is a real problem.
