My bilge access board is badly deteriorated. I am thinking about replacing it with 2 pieces of starboard with a hing in the middle. I keep a throw rug over it most of the time, so I'm not concerned with not using teak plywood like the original. Has anyone tried this? Is starboard easy to work with? Will seaform color match better than white? Thanks, Don #6293

I replaced a broken

board with 1/2" A/B plywood. I used the original as a template and cut it with a band saw. I sanded it to bevel the edges. It works great and it cost me very little.

syarboard pricey

starboard is very easy to work with but is pricey. if you keep a throw rug over the bilge I would look at something cheaper and put the money elsewhere on your boat.
