Pump Placement
Get a bilge pump, things do not always go as planned. Water can come in many places and it is prudent to keep these areas sealed. However if you leave your boat at a dock or mooring anything can happen to your boat! I put my pump in the battery area. I know this is not the lowest area, but it is convient and many of the lowest areas converge here. You can pipe it out the transome or the side. Like someone told me on this site recently, you can't have too large a bank account or bilge pump.
