Have a close look at the cutting at 1:10. That's not machining coolant....I wonder when they're filling the dry dock if these engineers have the same worries I do when splashing my boat -- will this thing really float?

that's exactly how they did it when they built it the first time ...they welded it together and more than likely that's how they added the expansion this time..... a full penetration weld and it's a long and involved process that if you are not a certified welder would take quite a bit of explaining for it to be understood by the laymenImpressive, I wish I knew more how they tie the structure together.
