Yikes! Yesterday morning as I took the dog for a walk we found this boat awash against the lee shore in Georgetown YB. Apparently she broke free from a mooring at Sailing Associates or another marina and blew down the fairway completely missing everything.

The tide was just starting to ebb. By 1:00 she was laying over quite a bit. Not sure about the end of the story yet.

It's been blowing like stink on the Chesapeake for the past 4 days, with some gusts over 50 kts. These north winds have pushed a lot of water out of the bay and produced some extremely low tides. Some people at our marina, who like to tie up their boats tightly in their slips with little or no wiggle room, have come to regret it as a few boats have pulled out mooring cleats....

Now the wind has shifted to the east and the boat on the round at Georgetown could get blown back down the river if no one has put a line on her.

Hard n wind in H dGrace all weekend

It was coming down the Susq valley 20-40 all weekend and altho we have floating docks, the dock cleats were really creaking
Some boats were out but it looked like tough going even just flying a pocket handkerchief

We saw a peak gust if 51 mph in Baltimore on Saturday. Watched a movie on Sat night and had the volume turned up almost all the way so we could hear it. Hey Ted how was the trip down?

Easy Trip Down the Delaware

Hi Mike. We had an uneventful trip down river on the 30th. Left Riverside at 0550 & were in the Elk River at 1220. We hit the tide perfectly and rode it for all it was worth.

Commercial traffic was a little hairy between the dredges below the Delaware Memorial bridges. Was monitoring channel 13 and spoke with a couple of captains just to let them know we would get out of their way before we became a PITA for them.

Hope your trip was easy also.
