... from the mainsail on my H340 which has in-the-mast furling. This is the plastic piece which is attached to the sail that the outhaul line is tied to. This happened while sailing, which caused no danger but could have in other than low wind. A sailing maker is going to sew the plastic piece back on, only stronger than ever. You might want to check yours for wear and tear!

Clew failed on my 320

My boat, 2 years old 320, has roller furling also and the webbing which fastens the sail to the aluminum outhaul dry rotted in less than two years. I ask Hunter to repair it due to improper webbing material with no UV protection and they referred me to UK sailmakers and they stated yes it is a defect in the manufacturing but since it has only a one year warranty tuff luck. I had it repaired and they sewed a strip of sunbrella over the top of the webbing to prevent the UV from dry rotting the material. I would think the sails should last more than two years since I take my sails off during winter. I want be buying anymore UK sails that for sure.

no sail will last in the sun

Anything that isn't covered or removed when not in use will die in a very short while.
