Have just had my first experience of trying to buy a boat from an online advertiser.....ack!Thouight I had found a dream trailerable...the pictures with the ad were beautiful, the boat appeared to have been babied and all the equipment shone like new! After $500 bucks spent on diesel, driving 2000 miles and missing 3 days of work to go pick it up....reality rears its ugly head! The boat looked like hell, the equipment in the pics was battered or non existant, the beautiful teak in the pics looked like rotten wood,....you get the idea! O yeah, forgot to mention the 3 hrs spent navigating thru New York City including the Holland tunnel, the $18 tolls....with a 35 ft trailer behind me! LOL!Quite a sight !! You know the wife loved it...NOT! After I told the broker I was no longer interested the price was cut nearly in half....but was so mad I wouldn't even buy it then.
Lesson learned!Never shop far from home for a boat!Just wanted to share the fun I had over the New Year with you guys. Has to be good for a laugh at least.Guess I am still in the market for a boat. Will be removing the Bayfield 25 from my dream team.
