What are the Alternator options with this engine?
Has this engine been found to be reliable and user friendly under heavy
use?
What speed through the water does this engine give to a Vega?

I am considering fitting theis engine as a replacement for a Beta
13.5hp engine that is now beyond its useful life.

Comments please as this will be a considerable outlay. Perhaps Steve
Birch could give me some idea of purchase cost!

Hi David

The Beta 20 (BD722) will more than handle any Vega in just about any circumstance. Personally i believe it to be overkill for teh Vega but I know of three Vegas with this engine installed.

Based on the Kubota D722 - 3 cylinder 722cc 20 HP. It is a 3 cyclinder version of the BZ482

The max speed will be the same for BD722 and BZ482, namely 7 kts on flat conditions with full rpm.
