Best Wood for Floor Joist/Blocks

Greetings! I'm wondering what the best wood/material to use for cabin sole blocking would be? I've attached a picture of mine. It appears to have held up perfectly, so was wondering if someone could I.D. it? Or, just provide a great solution.

The block would be "near" the bilge and could see water on the bottom from time-to-time.

I don't know what your wood is, but I'd consider pressure treated wood intended to be used in the ground (such as a fence post). These are way more rot resistant than untreated wood.

Paint it with epoxy. That block will sit there for a hunert years..
